The benefits of healthy eating are now being given more attention than ever before and there are a number of reasons for this. Poor diet is a leading factor in diseases such as heart disease and high blood pressure which can put a drain on the economy. Everywhere you look, people are encouraging you to live a more healthy way of life but on the other hand, you are also being encouraged to rely on convenience foods that can affect your health in a bad way. It is likely that lots of people feel it will take lots of effort to eat a healthy diet or that they have to make a large scale change to their way of life. It is possible, though, to make several minor changes that can start to make a good impact on our day-to-day eating habits.

One way to address this to start seeing some results is to realize that you do not need to alter everything at once or that you have to entirely get rid of certain foods from your diet. Even more important than totally altering your diet is just simply substituting healthy eating choices whenever possible. Eventually, you will discover that you actually prefer to consume healthy foods after you have eaten that way for a while. Like many other habits, change happens over a period of time and as soon as a new way of eating becomes part of who you are, you are not going to feel the need to revert to your old diet.

All in all, it is not difficult to begin making healthy eating a regular part of your daily lifestyle.

  15. You need 1 Tbsp Oil (Refined or Mustard)
  16. Provide 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  17. Prepare 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
Steps to make Fish Masala:
  1. First Wash the fish pieces very well and keep aside.
  2. Grind Onion, ginger and garlic into a fine paste and keep all ingredients ready.
  3. Heat oil in a kadhai or wok and once it is hot, add to it mustard and cumin. The moment it splutters, add to it thr sliced onion and fry till translucent.
  4. Now add tomato, green chillies and the onion-ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
  5. Now add little water and cook for another 1 minute.
  6. Add the dry masalas and mix well. Add water to ensure dry masalas doesnt burn and give a stir. Cover the wok and cook until the masala is cooked. Normally we come to know this when oil begins to float over masla. But I have used very little oil, so here it is not the same case. Keep adding little water to adjust the consistency.
  7. Once the masla is done, add a little water and mix well.
  8. Now add the fish pieces and mix well. Cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
  9. Add water as per your requirement for the gravy and adjust salt if you want. Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  10. Open the lid and give a stir. Add rest of the garam masala powder and mix well. Cook for another 10 minutes.
  11. Delicous fish masala is ready. It can be served with Steamed rice, naan, parotha and chapati. I will make butter naan to serve along with this recipe and share it's recipe also. Dish out the fish masala and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
